Malaysia is home to over 700 private higher education institutions and universities. Several American as well as British Universities have set up their campuses in Malaysia for the benefit of Malaysian students as well as international students. The operation costs are lower here and thus, education is available at a more competitive price. All universities and courses are approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. The education system is divided into two parts and each division is stringently monitored.

There are 3 intakes throughout the year namely spring, summer and winter.
Education here commences at the Pre-School level till the university level. The government undertakes the responsibility of a sound education system. Pre-Tertiary education (pre-school to secondary education) is under the Ministry of Education (MOE) and tertiary or higher education is looked after by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). The Government aims at making Malaysia a center of international studies.
